Résumé 256 :

Interpretation of Visual Results from the GAIA Method: A Practical View Point
Lidouh, Karim
Université libre de Bruxelles

The GAIA method provides a visualization of multi-criteria decision aid (MCDA) problems that is based on a Principal Component Analysis (PCA). However, the pretreatment that is performed on the data gives them specific properties from multi-criteria problems. This visualization allows the analyst to learn more about the structure of his problem and make adjustments to its formulation. The visual tool also offers the analyst a great communication tool to describe the solutions obtained and justify the related recommendations. In this communication, we intend to explore some of the properties of these results and illustrate them with simulations, diagrams or formulas. To do this, we describe the workings of the PROMETHEE-GAIA methodology while lingering on the different elements that compose it. Each of these elements is then described from a practical point of view. Finally we focus on some questions that are frequently asked during the implementation of this tool. (Remark: The presentation will be in French with slides in English.)
